Condition
Neuropathy & Numbness
- Burning or tingling in the feet
- Numbness or reduced sensation
- Sharp or electric-shock type pain
- Sensitivity to light touch
- Balance problems or unsteady gait

Understanding Peripheral Neuropathy
Peripheral neuropathy refers to damage or dysfunction of the nerves outside the brain and spinal cord. The nerves originate from the spine and brain, traveling down through the legs into the feet. Treatment must address the entire nerve pathway, not just the foot where symptoms are felt.
While diabetes is the most common cause, neuropathy can also result from nutritional deficiencies, thyroid conditions, autoimmune disorders, nerve compression syndromes, and medications.
Comprehensive Evaluation
Root-cause diagnosis is essential. We do not treat neuropathy symptoms without first identifying what is driving them.
- Laboratory workup for nutritional deficiencies, thyroid function, metabolic causes, and inflammatory markers
- Circulation assessment and arterial testing
- Advanced nerve testing and sensory evaluation
- Team evaluation with nerve testing specialists when indicated
Treatment
- Identification and management of the underlying cause
- Nutritional supplementation when indicated
- MLS laser therapy for nerve inflammation
- Red light and near infrared therapy for mitochondrial nerve support
- Custom orthotics for offloading and fall prevention
- Fellowship-trained peripheral nerve surgery for compression cases
